TFRW Woman of Distinction – September 2020

TFRW Blog

TFRW is pleased to present Cassie Daniel as our September Woman of Distinction.

Cassie Daniel has a long record of service that she adds to daily, with her unparalled commitment to the values of the Republican Party.  She’s a native Texan, originally from the small towns of the Panhandle and currently calling Austin home.  The daughter of teachers, she has a particular passion for training and equipping today’s leaders in the party and the Federation for success.

Cassie got her start as a chapter chairman for the West Texas A&M Young Conservatives of Texas.  She served on that organization’s state board and earned an award singling her out for her particular skills in recruiting and organization.  Later, she was appointed Student Regent to the Texas A&M University System, the first woman appointed and so far only student from WTAMU to serve in that position.

Cassie’s career has taken her to the Legislature; she worked first as a Legislative Aide for State Representative Jodie Laubenberg, and then worked a session for State Representative Erwin Cain.  She served with distinction as a regional coordinator for Governor Rick Perry’s reelection campaign in 2010.  Her talents led to a position with the Republican Party of Texas under Chairman Steve Munisteri, and in her role there she helped build the party several times over.  She ensured all 254 counties were able to hold Republican primaries by recruiting county chairmen for four out of the five times it has ever happened and ensured a primary was in every county for the second time in party history.

Cassie began her involvement with the Texas Federation of Republican Women as president of the High Plains Republican Women.  For over ten years she’s served various clubs around the state, and helped start her current club, Capitol Republican Women, where she is serving as president.  This unique club serves the many Republican staff members and women in professional roles in the greater Austin area, and Cassie’s creativity and earnest leadership has helped the club flourish in one of Texas’ dark blue areas. She has served on the TFRW Board of Directors in various positions and continues to do so now as part of the Information Technology Committee.

Currently, Cassie is a Senior Appointments Manager for Boards and Commissions in the Office of the Texas Governor.   Most recently, Cassie volunteered her time at the Republican Party of Texas state convention on the Party Organization Committee, doing much behind the scenes to help grassroots Republicans.  When the party’s staff asked for extra help, she spent day and night at party headquarters, helping delegates get access to the virtual sessions, making sure caucus chairs were kept in the loop on changes, and so much more.  Cassie is never one to shirk from duty and selflessly gave during a particularly challenging convention.  Cassie remains a tireless “happy warrior,” and we are grateful for her willingness to always lend a hand.

When not working or volunteering, Cassie can frequently be found dancing or singing karaoke, and she’s particularly fond of all things Texan.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Speech Communication from West Texas A&M University, and has been a member of the Junior League of Austin. She and her fiance Chip are planning a December wedding.
