Find A Club:

The 2023 Inaugural Class!

Introduction

Welcome to the Texas Federation of Republican (TFRW) Women’s 40 Under 40 Award & Fellowship. The 40 Under 40 program is designed to help equip, empower and launch young conservative women into effective advocacy and candidacy (if they’d like) while serving in their local and state Federation. It will focus on leadership and professional development through monthly fireside chats from industry and advocacy leaders, and mentorship.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Professional women, students, stay-at-home moms, and all young women (18-40) should apply to the program because it will be designed to help meet them where they are and turn around to launch them into where they aspire to go in advocacy and the political sphere.

For TFRW, this is an opportunity to start building a bench of equipped young women who can be plugged into the Federation at a level that benefits the participant and the organization. There’s no limit on how many people can be nominated.

THINGS WE WILL CONSIDER

  • Republican activism
  • Professional activity
  • Voter history
  • Club activity

We will be taking: Rising Stars (18-30 years); and All-Stars (30–40 years). Each nominee will be evaluated in their respective category.

MENTORSHIP
We’ll be pairing a Rising Star and an All-Star in the mentorship process so they can get to know each other better, and go through the program together.

ABOUT TFRW

TFRW provides the avenue for women to influence policy, develop candidates, and elect the leaders of Texas. We are a multi-generational, multicultural organization that provides the structure and support for political activists to learn, engage, and flourish.

TFRW actively supports Republican candidates, while providing strength and unity for political action. We encourage Republican Women to run for office and train them to become effective Republican Party workers. Our party feels it’s important to inform our members and the electorate through political education.

TFRW makes sure its members stay active not only by offering a source of year-round service for Republican women volunteers but also by encouraging members to undertake special assignments and campaign projects beneficial to our party organization.

TFRW is one of the largest women’s political organizations in the nation and is a member of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW). TFRW holds fast to the underlying principles of the Republican Party, government by the people, and the belief that people, such as you, must be part of the process if it is to work effectively. TFRW supports working at the grassroots level and influencing legislation at our state Capitol. Our TFRW members logged nearly four million hours working on campaigns during recent campaign cycles. TFRW is undeniably the most powerful women’s political organization in Texas today.

Mentorship

The winners will also be invited to participate in a fellowship mentorship program, where they will be paired with experienced Republican women who will provide guidance, support, and career advice.

The mentorship program will last for the remainder of the year, and it will include monthly meetings (decided on with the mentor and mentee’s schedule in mind). We believe that this program will not only recognize the outstanding achievements of young Republican women in Texas but also provide them with the support and mentorship they need to continue making a positive impact in their fields and communities.

Speakers for monthly zoom meetings will be announced at a later date.

Introduction and Goal Setting: The winners will be introduced to their mentors and other fellows. They will also receive an overview of the fellowship program, expectations, and goals. Additionally, the fellows will work with their mentors to set specific and measurable career development goals.

Networking: The fellows will discuss with their mentors about how valuable networking is and where they can learn how to expand their professional networks, build relationships, and develop new opportunities.

Discover your Leadership Style: The fellows and mentors will discuss leadership styles, effective communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution.

Community Activism, Legislative Advocacy, and Campaigns: How to be involved in the community, sit on the board of an organization, how to lead a movement, how to run a campaign, and create a strategic legislative plan and advocating.

Media, Digital, Personal Branding, and Framing the Message: The fellows and mentors will focus on personal branding, including developing a personal brand statement, creating a professional online presence, improving their communication skills, and strategic messaging.

Career Development: The fellows will focus on career development with their mentor, including job searching, interviewing skills, and negotiating job offers. They will also develop a plan for their post-fellowship career goals.

The goal of the fellowship is to provide the fellows with the support, guidance, and skills they need to become successful Republican women leaders in their respective fields and communities.
