TFRW proudly supports and adopts The Fisher House as its statewide Caring for America Project.
A Fisher House is “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. There is never a charge to stay at a Fisher House. The homes are normally located within walking distance of the treatment facility or have transportation available. There are 86 Fisher Houses located on 25 military installations and 37 VA medical centers. In Texas, there are more than a dozen homes spread across our great state in key locations like Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso and Central Texas. We encourage your club to adopt a home and show how much Republican women really do care! Please click on the video to learn more about the mission of Fisher House. Also, you may click on the Fisher House link below closest to your club to find out more about each individual home’s needs.

Clubs in the Texas Federation of Republican Women serve their communities in a variety of ways that are not necessarily political. Those projects fall under the heading of “Caring for America,” and thousands of volunteer hours every quarter are dedicated to these projects.
