TFRW Woman of Distinction – April 2021

TFRW Blog

Our April TFRW Woman of Distinction is Cassie Dyson, TFRW Regional Deputy President for Region XIII.

Hats off to Cassie Dyson, TFRW Woman of Distinction for April!

Cassie’s recent bio expressed so explicitly her life and contributions, we think it fitting to share her own words as we spotlight her achievements.

“My name is Cassie Dyson. I am a Texan, I am a devout Republican, I am a wife, I am a mother, I am a Christian, and most of all I am a very independent woman. Oh! I forgot to mention that I am also a lover of chocolate! I have lived and worked in Beaumont and in Houston and I am now retired in the beautiful Hill Country.

I have been self-employed all my working career and I have a keen understanding of small business from the ground up. Being a believer that computers just can’t do EVERYTHING, I still own, and still regularly use, a typewriter! I also still take shorthand! I definitely believe in hard work. I have always been a “hands on” person from my organizational skills at work to my passion for crafting.

“Thank you” are two of my most favorite words in the English language and sunshine yellow is my favorite color. Have you ever seen pictures of a young girl riding in a convertible (red, of course) with her long blond hair blowing in the breeze and a surfboard strapped to the back of her car while she was listening to loud music? Well, that wasn’t me! I was the girl who was always headed to a part-time job after school driving a not-so-fabulous car, BUT I was (and still am) a fan of ‘60s music (it’s worth mentioning here that I always wished to be the “convertible” girl)! I especially love music by the Beach Boys and I know every single word of every single song they sang!

I continue to devote considerable time to the Wimberley Community Civic Club, my church, and of course, the Hays County Republican Party and Hays County Republican Women. I am so thankful for one of the biggest blessings in my life – my 38-year marriage to my best friend and husband, Bob Parks.”

Cassie and her husband, Bob, who is Chairman of Hays County Republican Party, have worked tirelessly to establish, refurbish and open the Hays County Republican Party Welcome Center. Cassie works nonstop to plan and implement a variety of events and programs at the Center, including opportunities to support current, and recruit new Republicans of all ages.

She currently serves as TFRW Regional Deputy President, Region XIII, comprising Senatorial Districts 5, 14, 24 and 25.
