PRESS RELEASE – October 6, 2018

Republican News

The Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW) congratulates Judge Brett Kavanaugh on his confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court today. Judge Kavanaugh has made our organization and its members proud to be Republican and Americans! Today, when the Senate confirmed Judge Kavanaugh, Republicans and Democrats worked together to support not only the nominee but our constitution, laws, and country.

On July 9, 2018, President Trump nominated Judge Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court of the United States. Since that day, Judge Kavanaugh and his family have stood together without wavering in support of their husband, father, and family! No nominee should ever have to undergo the horrific, chaotic, and humiliating confirmation process that Judge Kavanaugh has been subjected to. The loss of civility and lack of common decency, while deeming any and all tactics permissible, demonstrated by the Senate must be addressed. Our members of the Senate should be embarrassed that their constituents witnessed such lack of decorum and civility in their behavior.

Our Senators are supposed to be Americans working together in support of our country and its citizens. It is time to remember that they serve at the will of their constituents. It is time to remember the principles that Congress should uphold and represent.

We are proud of our Texas Senators, U.S. Senator John Cornyn and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, who stood together in support of Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation with their fellow Senators.

In return, the Senators need to know that we, the TFRW members are ever present. Acknowledging we appreciate their hard work, but now it is time to move forward to the November 6, 2018, election. Our TFRW army is continuing to work their campaigns as we must WIN!

TFRW President Karen Newton asks all Republican women to call or email the Senators, thank them for confirming Judge Kavanaugh, and remind them that TFRW continues to work to WIN in November!

“Thank you to all TFRW members; you made the difference,” Newton said. “It is now time to move forward to INSPIRE. UNITE. ACHIEVE! The goal is VICTORY, November 6, 2018.”
