President’s Pen – September 2020

President’s Message

What a wonderful Republican National Convention! It was so filled with patriotism and American optimism that it could have been renamed the “Renewal of Nationalism” Convention. Viewers would be hard-pressed not to feel a sense of national pride after just one evening, but they got four! This was a great reminder of exactly what TFRW members are working for.

In two short months, this will all be over; the election cycle, the campaign calls, and if we are unsuccessful, the end of our country as we know it. I’m not exaggerating to make a point, or being paranoid. The Democrats have stated their agenda very clearly. They intend to defund the police, repeal the 2nd Amendment, increase taxes by $4 trillion, end the use of fossil fuels, open our borders, regulate the exercise of religion, legalize abortion on demand… the list goes on. Does this sound like the America you want your children and grandchildren to grow up in? Without Texas’ electoral votes, President Trump can’t win a second term. Fair or not, the future of America is up to us. So, I challenge you to ask yourself “What have I done TODAY to ensure Texas elects Republicans from the Courthouse to the White House? Could I have made one more call, written one more letter, donated to one more campaign?”

As your President, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to visit with outstanding clubs across the state. The women of TFRW demonstrate incredible commitment and purpose and I am so proud of the work we do. There are a couple of clubs highlighted later in this newsletter, but I would like to give a specific shout-out to the McLennan County RW. MCRW has not let COVID-19 slow them down one bit. In addition to the traditional election activities you would expect from a political club, they developed voter registration boxes for conservative businesses (at this writing, they had delivered 70+ boxes), they launched a “Why I’m a Republican” video contest on Face-book (in English and Spanish), and rented 10 billboards with Get Out TheVote (GOTV) messages with three more in the works. Their excitement is contagious and after our fabulous convention, we should all be on board the Trump train. All of our candidates depend on us, so let’s get to work.

For Texas and The Country!
