President’s Pen – February 2024
What a fabulous day and weekend of celebration with a record attendance not only at our first Board meeting but at Leadership Day in Georgetown. Words cannot express my gratitude to each and every one of you who attended. Your enthusiasm and energy brought excitement to the day and I truly hope you left rejuvenated and ready to roll up your sleeves. We have a lot of work to do!
Debra and Sarah made sure everything fell together perfectly with the help of their awesome team of volunteers and our staff. Breakout sessions gave you the tools to be effective leaders in your clubs. Jill, Barsa, and Cassie did an awesome presentation and I hope you learned the importance of why you need to attend the RPT Convention. Thank you to all of them for their hard work and dedication to making this a memorable event. I also want to thank all our NFRW Officers for attending. They made it very clear how important TFRW is to the NFRW federation.
Our Leadership Day theme, “The Road to Convention,” focused on encouraging you to attend the RPT Convention in May. I hope you left there ready to make the commitment to attend the RPT Convention as a Delegate or Alternate.
I also listened to your frustrations regarding the upcoming elections. We must stand strong and UNITED to make a difference. You will hear me saying this over and over for the next couple of months: if we do not unite, we will not win!
Let’s get through the Primaries and focus on attending the RPT Convention. What an impact 3,000 TFRW women could make! I’m not dreaming. We can do this!
Be looking for more information in this newsletter on ways you can say YES to helping keep Texas RED:
• Can you volunteer for the VEP program?
• Can you volunteer for texting GOTV?
• Can you participate in knocking on doors?
• Can you volunteer to be an Election Judge, Election Clerk, or Poll Watcher?
• Are you attending your Precinct Convention, SD/County Convention and the RPT State Convention?
Your answer should be YES to one or all of the above if YOU want to make a difference.
Congratulations to all our TFRW sisters who have taken the next step to run for offices across the state. We have one more month before the Primary ends … Let’s be fair to all candidates. They all deserve our respect and consideration.
Thank you for the honor of serving you.
