President’s Pen – December 2023

President’s Message

As I started writing this article, I was blindsided with the realization that this is my last article as your TFRW President. What I intended to complete in 30 minutes turned into a several-hour project. How can I possibly express what we have accomplished and what the last two years have meant to me in just a few paragraphs?

Leadership can be difficult but throughout my term, the countless examples of the passion, enthusiasm and dedication displayed by TFRW clubs and members encouraged me and gave me strength. Together, we embraced new ideas and worked tirelessly to achieve our goals and accomplish our mission. YOUR commitment to TFRW is the bedrock of our success and ultimately simplified my job.

I firmly believe that our President serves as the guardian of TFRW’s integrity, values, and principles. I, along with our officers, did our best to steer us through challenges, protect our interests, and uphold the reputation and trust placed in the Texas Federation of Republican Women.

Serving as your President has been a privilege beyond measure—one that has profoundly impacted me on many levels. As I transition from this role, I carry with me cherished memories, invaluable lessons learned, friendships that will last a lifetime, and a deep sense of pride in what we achieved together. I continue to be humbled, grateful and honored that you put your trust in me.

Although my time as President is coming to an end, our shared aspirations will continue. Let us continue to uphold the values that define TFRW and support our incoming leadership. As I pass the torch to our incoming President, Zenia Warren, I do so with the utmost confidence that under her leadership, TFRW will reach new heights and even greater success.

I wish you Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, and pray you and yours are filled with peace and joy this holiday season and in the New Year. Family and friends hold a special place during Christmas and Hanukkah, and I pray your holidays will center around gratitude, togetherness, and celebration, and provide opportunities to rejoice, reconnect, reflect on shared memories, and create new ones.

Kit Whitehill
