President’s Pen – August 2023

President’s Message

Have you watched and shared our “Iron Ladies, Forging the Future” video? If you haven’t, now is your chance to by clicking HERE. Every time I watch this video, it moves me and brings tears to my eyes. To me, it embodies everything we strive for as a state federation.

Foundation: TFRW is the bedrock of the party. We support the party by registering voters and serving as precinct chairs, election workers, county chairs, SREC members, RPT Vice Chair, RNC National Committeewoman and more. We support the party by growing our membership, working for candidates, building relationships with elected officials to affect policy, working hand-in-hand with Leadership Institute to train candidates, offering our eight-week Candidate Development Program, and logging 3,395,353 volunteer hours that save candidates money.

Unity: TFRW has always encouraged unity within our organization and with other conservative organizations that share our objectives. TFRW, the Texas Republican County Chairs Association, and the Young Republicans are working closely to strengthen our party and elect our Republican candidates.

Community: If you remember, through our survey of new members, we learned that community was the second most important reason women joined TFRW. Our clubs must be mindful of the importance of community and provide opportunities to build relationships among members and engage their members.

Leadership: Leading others is a privilege that is earned, it is not a right. Leaders understand that leading is, first and foremost, about service. A good leader leads by example and shows integrity, courage, respect, empathy and gratitude.

Commitment: This helps you stick to your goals during good times and bad. People who are committed to an organization truly believe that it is important. They show up, follow through, and stick with it. With committed members, great momentum can be generated, and momentum is crucial going into 2024.

Forging the Future

Think about the foundation, unity, commitment, leadership and community exhibited by the women in the video. We each need to live these qualities out and come together for the good of our state and country just as these women did during World War II. It is critical that TFRW women are united, committed, and focused on our mission to elect Republicans, increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government, and support the principles and objectives of the Republican Party.

Building Strong Leaders for Texas!
