President’s Pen – August
Our 3rd Quarter Board meeting at Round Rock was wonderful. So many great leaders from clubs attended. The highlight was the presentation of the 2026-2027 TFRW Slate of Officers. Congratulations to all of them! In addition, we recognized the 40 Under 40, 2nd Cohort.
Senator Ted Cruz was our guest speaker at lunch updating us on everything happening in D.C., and a very special guest, Heidi Cruz, shared a few words with us as well. Robin Armstrong, RNC National Committeeman for Texas, stopped by and was graciously introduced by Debbie Georgatos, RNC National Committeewoman for Texas. Yet another great speaker, County Judge Tano Tijerina shared his story of flipping to become a Republican. NFRW Awards were updated and finalists submitted to NFRW were announced. Thank you to all our guest speakers for making our Board meeting a stellar event. This last formal Board meeting was bittersweet, filled with joy, happiness, and at times lots of emotion. My heart is filled with pride for all the great things you have done over the past two years. I am honored to lead our Organization and I applaud you for your accomplishments and your dedication to TFRW.
Moving on to Convention – Time to celebrate! I hope you are getting excited; our Convention is right around the corner, and with that in mind, Awards applications are quickly coming due. The last day to submit awards is August 1st by 11:59 p.m. There will be quite a few hard deadline dates coming up this month so please stay on top of your schedule. This newsletter is full of information that will make your job easier. Awards applications need to be submitted to the prospective Awards Chair. If you have submitted an application, every Awards Chair should send you a confirmation. If you have not received confirmation, please contact that Chair.
Attention Club Presidents: An email was sent to you regarding Delegate/Alternate certification for the NFRW Convention. I need this information to certify members attending the NFRW Convention. Please send this to me as soon as possible. Here’s the link to that email in case you missed it: https:// conta.cc/4k6SbV9. The Certification Form is available on the bottom of the Alert under Enclosures. Download the application and save it to your desktop, fill it out, save it, and email it to me. If you have any problems, please contact me. I need this to certify all TFRW members going to the NFRW Convention and yes, I have a hard deadline to do that.
The last day to send membership for determination of Club Strength for the TFRW Convention is August 25th by 4 p.m. All members must be submitted and paid by this date and time to be certified as a Delegate or Alternate for the 35th TFRW Biennial Convention in San Antonio. Club Strength is determined by number of members; 1 Delegate and 1 Alternate for every 10 Members. Club Presidents will be notified by August 27th regarding Club Strength.
The Call to Convention will be sent out on or about August 15th and will only be sent to ACTIVE Primary members. Please don’t hold those membership submissions. Send them in as soon as possible and I encourage you to pay online. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I am available for you and I want to ensure that your club has the very best representation, but more so, a fabulous convention experience. I look forward to seeing you all at the convention.
