President’s Message – January 2020

President’s Message

Happy New Year, TFRW!

What an exciting time to be a Republican!

You’ve heard it before, but we truly are facing the most important election year of our lives. I know that you are well aware of the challenges we will face in the upcoming year, and more importantly what is on the line if we don’t succeed, but together we are stronger, more empowered and more effective. Our TFRW theme for 2020-2021 is “For Texas and The Country!” I hope that each day you will take just a moment to remind yourself why we do what we do and why it is so very vital.

This newsletter is a fabulous resource, but many of our members mistakenly believe that it is only meant for club presidents. So the President’s Newsletter will be taking on a new name, and I invite you to help me rename it. Please send your ideas to Kit Whitehill at [email protected] by Friday, January 31st. All names will be considered, and the author of the winning submission will win a Patron Membership for 2020.

Back by popular demand, the Texas Star will soon be delivered directly to your inbox and will be covering clubs from every corner of Texas. But we can only publish the information we receive… so gather pictures and descriptions of your meetings, events, and fundraisers and send them to Public Relations Chairman Karyn Brownlee at [email protected].

Don’t forget that Leadership Day is right around the corner. The event team has been hard at work making this a day not to be missed. Whether you are a club leader, a community leader, or a grassroots leader (that would be all of us), Leadership Day is for you! There will be workshops, a candidate breakfast, and an RPT Chairman’s debate between Chairman Dickey and Colonel Allen West. And best of all, there will be networking with other Republican women from across our great state. I look forward to seeing you there.

Finally, as I know many of you are already planning, organizing, and working hard on candidate’s campaigns, please remember to utilize your resources. Our Federation is here for you. TFRW Officers, District Directors, and Deputy Presidents are at your disposal. In fact, please consider gifting an associate club membership to your District Director and Deputy President. The membership costs your club nothing, earns you points toward the Tower Award, and is a big help to the women volunteering in these leadership roles.

Thank you again for the honor of serving you. Empowered women empower women, and together we will make Texas stronger and more conservative than ever.

For Texas and The Country!
Glynis Chester, President
