Women of Distinction – October 2026
Corrine is a native of Chicago. After having spent a decade in California, a transfer with Transamerica brought her and husband Dennis to Texas. Corrine retired after working as an IT Purchasing Manager for several major companies. She likes to say she worked for Intel before Intel was cool.
Corrine got involved in politics when President Obama was elected and she complained to a neighbor about what a Chicago Democrat was going to do to our country. That neighbor was former NFRW/TFRW Past President Jody Rushton. She invited her to her club meeting and Corrine joined Conner Harrington Republican Women in Plano. She has served in numerous positions including two terms as President and is currently Communications and Bylaws Chair. Her club has recognized her for her many contributions including TFRW’s Tribute to Women.
She started her service on the TFRW Board in the role of Merchandise Manager utilizing the skills she learned as a Purchasing Manager to find unique items for the members. She served two terms as TFRW’s VP Campaign Activities and was most recently the TFRW VP Membership. Her current role is the District Director for SD8 which covers Collin, Hunt, and Raines counties. In this role she helps clubs grow, works on expanding the presence of TFRW, helps her clubs connect with candidates, and to find ways to volunteer and be politically active. Her passion is getting new members involved, trained and active.
Not only is Corrine committed to TFRW, but she is always up for an adventure. During Kit Whitehill’s presidency, Corrine and Kit drove miles across Texas, visiting TFRW clubs. They traveled so much together that people started calling them Thelma and Louise! One trip took them to the Texas border where they were warned about the danger of two women traveling alone. They each brought a pistol for protection, but thankfully, they did not encounter danger, which was good because they were both too scared to shoot! According to Kit, these trips were more than a trip to visit a club; they were about friendship and laughter and having someone beside you who was always ready to see what adventure was waiting around the next corner.
That is exactly the kind of person Corrine is, someone who makes the journey more memorable simply by being there.
