Women of Distinction – November 2026
Lesli R. Fitzpatrick is a fifth-generation Texan born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, and the Permian Basin. Lesli pursued her dream of law school and has been licensed to practice law for over twenty-five years now. Her first legal job was as an Assistant County Attorney in the Ector County Attorney’s Office in Odessa, Texas. She joined the Ector County Republican Women’s Club in the early 2000s and became the club’s Vice-President in 2005.
Lesli knew she wanted to do more for the State of Texas, so she brought her West Texas roots to Austin, Texas in 2006 and began her journey working in state government. For the last twenty years, Lesli has worked for the Texas General Land Office, the Texas Senate, herself, and she currently works for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. At TDCJ she serves as the Director of Special Litigation. During this time, Lesli has remained active with the Republican Party and TFRW.
Once Lesli joined the Georgetown Area Republican Women’s Club, the president immediately asked her to serve as Legislative Liaison and Parliamentarian. She was also asked to serve as Parliamentarian for TFRW at the same time. Lesli went on to serve as the 1st Vice-President for GARW and eventually became President of the club during the pandemic. The club went through many challenges during that time, but Lesli’s leadership kept the club afloat.
Lesli was selected to be a participant in the TFRW Candidate Development Program and successfully graduated. She was then tapped to be the Coordinator of this TFRW program. Due to the pandemic in 2020, the program was unable to have regular classes. Lesli opted to have two classes of cohorts back-to-back to keep the program on track the next year.
In her work for the local party, Lesli has served as a Precinct Chair and General Counsel to the Williamson County GOP. She has also attended many Republican Party of Texas Conventions serving as a delegate. She ran for judicial office and nearly prevailed in 2022 when she ran for the Third Court of Appeals only missing this goal by two percent.
Lesli is currently a member of the Northwest Austin Republican Women’s Club and is an Associate Member of the Leander Area Republican Women’s Club, GARW and Austin Republican Women’s Club. Lesli loves that she has been involved with TFRW for decades and cherishes the friendships she has made with other like-minded Republican women along the way.
Lesli is married to her husband Jimmy. She has one adult son who also lives in Austin. Her marriage and family have been her constant support as she has served the State of Texas. She serves as a wonderful role model for other TFRW Republican Women.
