Woman of Distinction – November 2024
Cindy Siegel has served as the Chair of the Harris County Republican Party (HCRP) since December 2020. Cindy filled the position at a time when the disillusioned Harris County Republican base needed leadership because the local GOP was “broke and broken.”
Cindy is a long-time conservative Republican grassroots activist who has worked to support the Republican Party and help conservative candidates get elected. She has a long history of serving within the Party and auxiliary Republican groups. She has served as a Precinct Chair, Election Judge, and as Vice-Chair and Treasurer for HCRP.
Cindy is a Past President of the Greater Houston Council of Federated Republican Women and served as the Texas Federation of Republican Women’s District Director for Senate District 17 from 2015 to 2019. She is a two-term Past President of the Magic Circle Republican Women’s Club. Cindy has served as a Delegate several times to the Harris County Republican Senatorial Convention, the Texas Republican Party State Convention and most recently, the National Republican Convention.
During the March 2020 primary, Cindy was a candidate for Congress in Texas District 7. Prior to that, she served as the Mayor of the City of Bellaire (an enclave city in Houston) for eight years and a Bellaire City Councilman for six years. She also was the Second Vice-Chair and Board member of the Metropolitan Transit Authority for Harris County for eight years.
Additionally, she has been on several Boards serving children and seniors including the Alzheimer’s Association, Texas Aged and Disability Advisory Board, and the Evelyn’s Park Conservancy.
Cindy is a Certified Public Accountant with 40 years of experience and owns a public accounting firm that provides accounting and tax services for small businesses and individuals. She has been married to Bob Siegel for 32 years, and they have two daughters, Jennifer and Lauren.
