Woman of Distinction – May 2026

TFRW Blog

Jessica Hart Steinmann is a proud wife, mother of two young boys, and conservative leader who has dedicated her career to serving Texas and defending the values that make our state strong. Last month, Jessica won the Republican primary election for Texas’ 8th Congressional District with 70% of the vote, despite facing a self-funded opponent who spent more than $2.5 million against her. As she heads into the general election, Jessica is poised to become only the 5th Republican woman from Texas elected to Congress.

Jessica left a successful career in Big Law to answer the call to public service and put her talents to work for the conservative movement. She began at the Harris County Republican Party, later worked for Senator Ted Cruz, and was then appointed by President Trump to serve at the U.S. Department of Justice as Director of the Office for Victims of Crime, where she led major efforts to support victims and combat human trafficking.

After the first Trump Administration, Jessica returned home to Texas and served as Elections Committee Clerk for the Texas House of Representatives, where she helped draft Texas’ landmark 2021 election integrity law. She later joined the America First Policy Institute as Executive General Counsel, taking on some of the toughest legal battles facing the conservative movement. In 2025, she was appointed Vice Chair of the America First Women’s Initiative for her leadership in the courtroom and in the broader cultural fight to defend women, girls, and the values under attack in America today.

Jessica has also been deeply involved in the Texas Federation of Republican Women and the grassroots and has long championed the importance of Republican women stepping forward to lead. She served on the TFRW Board as Youth Outreach Chair in 2023. Under President Kit Whitehill, she helped launch the TFRW 40 Under 40 program, created to build a strong coalition of women equipped to serve their local and state Federation. In 2024 and 2025, President Zenia Warren appointed Jessica to serve on the TFRW Board as Election Integrity and Ballot Security Chair. As President of The Woodlands Republican Women, she helped strengthen and grow one of the premier clubs in Texas while encouraging more women to become active in the conservative movement. In 2024, she was selected as Texas’ sole Committeewoman on the Republican National Convention Platform Committee, earning the endorsement of President Donald J. Trump.

Jessica Hart Steinmann’s career has been defined by conviction, service, and leadership. In the courtroom, in public service, and in the grassroots conservative movement, she has been a trailblazer for Republican women in Texas and a strong example of principled leadership for the next generation.
