TFRW Woman of Distinction – May 2021
We are pleased to have selected Gail Teegarden as our TFRW Woman of Distinction for May 2021.
Gail joined the Texas Federation in 2003 where she hit the ground running and has not slowed down for one minute since that time. She has been an active member of Burnet County Republican Women and in all things Republican. She has served as Membership Chair, PAC Treasurer, Awards Chair and Conventions Chair. She also served as Vice President for four years where she coordinated a joint event with Highland Lakes RW honoring First Lady of Texas Cecilia Abbott.
Gail has been a Delegate to multiple TFRW State Conventions, and has participated in many TFRW Leadership Day and Legislative Day events. She is well known for the quality training events she organizes in central Texas. She has served on the TFRW Board as Region 11 Deputy President for four years and currently serves as TFRW SD24 District Director on the 2021 Nominations Committee and the 2021 TFRW Convention Committee. Our honoree is also a member of the Mighty Texas Strike Force and deployed to Georgia in December 2020 for the special senate race in that state.
Gail also finds time in her busy schedule to support our Republican Party. She has served on committees for many Burnet County Conventions and was selected to serve as Nominations Committee Chair for the 2020 County Convention. She has been a Delegate to every state RPT Convention since 2012, and in 2018 and 2020 was appointed to serve on committees at the State Convention. In 2016, she was selected to sit on stage with Sean Hannity and guest Donald Trump (then-candidate for President). She is an active organizer for local events supporting candidates — fundraising, block-walking and GOTV. In 2020, she again coordinated the 2020 Burnet County Republicans Bi-Annual Chili Cook off fundraising event and annual picnic.
Our recipient also participates in the election process where she works early voting and election day at a voting location for our Republican candidates every election year, and has served, and is currently serving, as a Deputy Voter Registrar in Burnet County.
Gail worked as a Postmaster in several Texas cities for more than 30 years, and was Vice President of the National Association of Postmasters. As a single mom, she raised three wonderful children. She is currently active in the Methodist Church and the Community Service League.
