Woman of Distinction – March 2025
TFRW Board Members state that knowing Anne Slagel is a joy. “You feel good just being around her. She brings a special light to every event.”
Anne is a sixth-plus generation Texan whose ancestors founded Strawn, Texas. She was raised in Missouri but returned to Texas as soon as possible. She boasts three children and 12 grandchildren whom she calls her “treasures.” Anne and her husband, Gary, share a life of service in the North Texas Region.
Reared by an unstoppable legally-blind mother who never let her challenge in life stop her, Anne has that same positive attitude and heart for service. Her nickname is Anne-courager. She holds a Doctorate in Divinity and Chaplaincy from GPS Seminary in Louisiana, and currently serves as the Chaplain for the Texas Federation of Republican Women. Her inspirational invocations open all TFRW meetings with encouraging words and a prayer. She is the newly elected President of Dallas County Council of Republican Women, and you also will find her serving as the First VP of Richardson Republican Women.
Anne is a published author, a motivational speaker, an ordained minister, and founder of Chaplain 4 U, a counseling and Wedding Officiant organization. She is one of the 100 Women of Richardson, a member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Executive Women, and an alumnus of Leadership Richardson. She campaigns for conservative candidates, works with the Dallas County Republican Party, and is a respected voice for conservative values in all areas of life.
You can read Anne’s articles each month in the TFRW newsletter. Sometimes you will laugh and cry, sometimes you will feel inspired, but most of all, you will feel encouraged and uplifted, knowing that your Chaplain supports you in prayer and spiritual guidance.
