Woman of Distinction – June 2026

President’s Message

Kristi Antonick is a woman who is comfortable in any arena. Whether she is on horseback or on stage with a U.S. Senator, she is intensely dedicated to tackling big challenges. Like Roosevelt’s “man in the arena,” Kristi knows how to get dusty and dirty and even understands what is like to be a little bloody and marred by the work at hand. Her sense of responsibility to reach the original ideals of America motivates her to stay in the arena and fight on.

Today, as Coalitions Director for Americans for Prosperity—Texas, Kristi collaborates with stakeholders across Texas to advance freedom enhancing legislation through both policy and political engagement. Kristi is an effective moderator with a unique ability to convene industry, organizational, and business leaders with state and federal lawmakers, elevating real-world stories that drive meaningful changes in energy, health care, education, and property tax reform.

Utilizing these skills, Kristi is currently leading town hall discussions across Texas to bring information on property tax reform policy to constituents in a concise and easy to understand language. TFRW and NFRW have both benefited from Kristi’s abilities as she has facilitated advocacy education workshops at TFRW and NFRW conventions.

Kristi’s key work, utilizing organic coalitions to advance policy, is exemplified through her visionary Unleash Texas Energy Roundtables and Energy Tour events with state and national lawmakers. These stakeholders’ relationships have since been used to develop model energy legislation to be used in state houses across the nation.

Kristi credits the Texas Federation of Republican Women for opening the door to her political involvement. She is currently serving as TFRW Scholarship Committee Chair and Rusk County Republican Women Club President (leading the club she helped organize and guide to the Shooting Star Award in 2019.) She is a former TFRW District Director (SD1 2019-2023) and Board Member at Large (2021-2023). In addition, she chaired the TFRW Partnership and Community Engagement Committees and the 2023 Convention Workshops Committee.

At the national level, Kristi served on the NFRW Programs Committee, helping plan and host programs on Empower Hour and Bite Size Tools. She also worked for the Republican Party of Texas as a Regional Field Director and liaison with TFRW for the initial VEP, managing over 500 volunteers who registered more than 150,000 Republicans during the covid era! Kristi’s next big adventure came as she organized and directed the Texas Youth Leadership Summit and Youth Capitol Summit, where top students met directly with legislators and attended workshops on advocacy and leadership.

Of all her roles, Kristi says it is wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend that are most important to her. When Kristi is not on the road, she enjoys family, wide open spaces, and a long ride on a good horse. She is grateful for groups like TFRW and AFP that have allowed her to redirect the energy she put into coaching her kids in the rodeo and FFA arenas to coach fellow Texans in the legislative and political arenas to ensure that freedom and liberty are the trophies of our labors.
