Karyn Brownlee serves on the Credit Union Commission for the State of Texas, as appointed by Governor Abbott. She spent 18 years in public education, seven as a teacher, and 11 as a campus principal in the highly rated Coppell ISD.

Karyn has also worked as a professional leadership communications consultant, speech writer, professional speaker, blogger and voiceover artist.  As a member of the Texas Elementary Principals & Supervisors Association, she was a conference presenter and leadership academy graduate. Karyn served as a judge for the Stoa National Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament, a board member of the Coppell YMCA, a board member of Proven Way Ministries, a volunteer for Life Romania, and a teacher and leadership team member at Prestonwood Church of Plano. Brownlee received a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a Master of Education in educational leadership from Texas Tech University.

For most of her life, Karyn has regularly served as an advocate and activist for people and issues she cares about, fighting for faith, freedom and justice for all.
