I found myself daydreaming on the plane, getting lost in the sea of clouds and reminiscing about all the great memories made this past week at the NFRW Convention. We had a fabulous delegation! I am so proud of all your accomplishments this past 2-year cycle. Your unbelievable achievements reflect what TFRW is and we must celebrate! More than 1,000 women attended the NFRW Convention in Orlando. What a fabulous sisterhood. TFRW rocked the house with Awards! We did not go unnoticed and the compliments from other State Federations overwhelmed me. Here is a recap of our awards—TFRW was recognized for the following:

The Betty Heitman Award for State Excellence:
Texas was one of only 28 states across the country to achieve the Excellence Level, the highest level. Betty Heitman is awarded to states that demonstrate excellence, achievement, or accomplishments in membership development, campaign activities, programs, community service and state functions.

Public Relations Award: 3rd Place
This award recognizes outstanding achievements by the State Federation in efforts to improve visibility and attract coverage of Federation activities. TFRW also won the National Social Media category.

NFRW Club Achievement Awards:
63 TFRW Clubs received this prestigious award: 52 Diamond, 4 Gold, 5 Silver, and 2 Bronze. For those who didn’t attend, I brought home your awards/pins and we will give them to you at our convention.

Literacy and Education Award Outstanding Participation:
Texas Federation of Republican Women

American Patriot Award for TFRW:

Ronald Reagan Award:
Zenia Warren – I was humbly honored to be nominated for the Ronald Reagan Award. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would win it. That’s four times in a row TFRW has won this prestigious award. I thank all of you for giving me the opportunity to lead you—I’m still on Cloud 9!

The NFRW Elected Officers for 2026-2027 are:
President – Martha Jenkins, NC; 1st VP – Karen Newton, TX; 2nd VP – Lorie Legere, OK; 3rd VP – Keri Abernathy, MS; 4th VP – Judy Barlow, AL; Treasurer – Heidi Parker Martin, LA Secretary – Cindy Casaus, AZ. Members-at-Large Christine Peters, NH, Chelle Davis, VA, Barbara Price, FL.

Quite a few Bylaws Amendments passed including a Bylaws change defining a Woman Member – XX by birth, and an Associate Male Member – XY by birth.

Time to get out of the clouds now and back to our own convention, celebrating YOU! Our TFRW Convention Committee headed by Carol Van de Walle, has been diligently working to finalize details. So, pack something red, comfy shoes, your signature attire pin and scarf, a little bling, your best outfit, your phone charger, and get ready to “Fiesta” in San Antonio.
