President’s Pen – November 2025
I was overwhelmed by the sisterhood exhibited at another stellar convention! I hope everyone who attended is resting from a non-stop three-day event.
Our 35th Biennial Convention was fabulous; packed full of outstanding speakers and elected officials, vocalists, and great workshops. I am so glad many of you did network with your sister clubs and had fun doing it. I left energized for the upcoming new year and I hope you did as well.
Throughout the convention, we celebrated our achievements and our great legacy. I was honored to welcome our new officers and I am confident TFRW will reach greater heights under the leadership of President Jill Tate.
Our convention could not have been successful without Convention Chair Carol Van de Walle and her entire convention team with special recognition to Sylvia Gardner, Convention Co-Chair; Lillie Gough, Treasurer; and Pat Hastings, Logistics Chair. Thank you for all your hard work to make everything enjoyable. And, a very special “Thank You” to Jill Tate, Bergundi Cain, Louri O’Leary, Debra Harper, and Kellye Duncan Garrett. Jill and Bergundi went above and beyond to make this happen! Our new book, “A Tribute to TFRW,” was débuted and you can find out more information in this newsletter on how to order your copy.
Leading the Way for 70 Years is a milestone for TFRW. A Legacy is not handed down; a Legacy is carried forward. We must remain committed as Republican women to continue to work for our conservative values ensuring future generations can and will succeed. We must remain united. Unity makes us strong and makes our organization strong. Unity lies in mutual respect and understanding, where anyone may have different perspectives but everyone works together toward achieving the same common purpose.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to each one of you for making 2024-2025 and our 35th Biennial Convention a huge success! Your commitment to TFRW, Texas and our country is truly remarkable, and I am proud to stand with you.
I enjoyed seeing so many of you and celebrating with you. Thank you for giving me a memory of a lifetime. I hope you too made memories. I am humbly honored to serve you.
Time to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends. We have a lot to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving!
