President’s Pen – March 2026

President’s Message

We are finally getting close to the end of what I call the “Silly Season.” Why do I call it that? Well somehow, we get so wrapped up in campaigns and who we are supporting that we all get “silly.” Don’t get me wrong, Primaries are an important part of the election process, but we forget who we are — Republican sisters.

This primary season saw some ugly remarks and statements said about TFRW and our members. Please don’t forget who we are. Who are we? We are the largest grassroots political organization in Texas and one of the largest in the nation.

TFRW actively supports Republican candidates, while providing strength and unity for political action. We encourage Republican women to run for office and train them to become effective Republican Party workers and leaders. We support all Republicans and not a brand of Republicans. TFRW makes sure its members stay active not only by offering a source of year- round service for Republican women volunteers but also by encouraging members to undertake special assignments and campaign projects beneficial to our Party and community.

TFRW holds fast to the underlying principles of the Republican Party, government by the people, and the belief that people must be part of the process if it is to work effectively. TFRW supports working at the grassroots level and influencing legislation at our state Capitol.

Our TFRW members logged more than 3,000,000 hours working on campaigns during recent campaign cycles. We supported our military with Armed Services projects, gave support across the state to countless non-profit organizations with Caring for America projects, we registered almost 500,000 new Republican voters in Texas AND the swing states — helping to deliver a Donald Trump VICTORY, we provided scholarships to deserving young women, and we continue to educate our communities on candidates and issues.

In addition, we support each other by lifting each other up and not tearing one another down. Comments on looks, age, and beauty only go to devalue the hard work and commitment to Republicans and other women. As the saying goes, we straighten another woman’s crown when it’s crooked. Last month, an unfortunate incident happened on social media with two of our members. Immediately, these two ladies resolved it with grace and dignity. One offered a sincere apology and the other accepted it graciously. This is how Republican women solve issues. Not continuing the rhetoric, just sincerely coming to the table and addressing the issues to come to a reasonable solution.

We are not always going to be best friends, agree on everything and all candidates, but we can agree on the principles of the Republican Party and the beliefs we hold dear. We must work together to Keep Texas RED.

Republican voters have become complacent, and the loss of a strong Republican Senate seat in Tarrant County in a special January election to a Democrat should concern us all and make us want to work together to elect Republicans up and down the ballot in November.

After all WE are “Where the RED Begins!”

Jill Tate, President 2026-2027 TFRW
