President’s Pen – March 2025
Zig-zagging across the state of Texas this month, your enthusiasm has overwhelmed me! Republican women are excited, energized, and want to be informed. The “Trump effect” is intoxicating.
America is ready for a change and President Trump just keeps on going. He is running circles around the Democrats and has achieved more these past few weeks than what has been done in the past four years. “Promises made and Promises kept.” It’s exhilarating to wake up in the morning waiting to see what he’ll do next!
I’ve enjoyed attending so many ABCs of Leadership workshops this past month. District Directors and Deputy Presidents have outdone themselves providing their districts and regions with excellent training and outstanding speakers. I’ve had a wonderful time visiting with so many of you and I’m looking forward to seeing many more of you in the upcoming months. If you haven’t attended an ABCs of Leadership training, I encourage you to do so. If you missed your region training, you can always attend another. Sisterhood networking is fabulous regardless of where you go.
Legislative Day is quickly approaching—March 21st. Jill Tate, VP Legislation, has organized another excellent day of training. The cost is minimal and includes dinner on March 20th, and breakfast and lunch on March 21st. Training will be priceless. Plan to attend and stay for our Board Meeting on Saturday, March 22nd. Registration is required for both events.
It’s hard to believe we are already gearing up for the TFRW Convention in October. NFRW Awards will be due June 1st and I hope many of you have started working on your applications. I encourage all clubs to start working on them now. You’ve worked hard these past two years and you deserve national and state recognition.
TFRW Awards will be due by August 1st. The applications for both are so similar, once you’ve done one, there’s no reason not to complete the other. The Awards Schedule is posted in this newsletter. You don’t have to wait until the due date—submit it once you’ve completed it. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask your District Director, Deputy President, or Awards Chair.
Carol Van de Walle, Convention Chair, will be updating the Board at the next Board Meeting with convention details, and that information will be posted in next month’s TFRW Today. We also will be voting on the next TFRW Convention site for 2027 at the upcoming Board Meeting. Details to apply for the 2026-2027 Slate of Officers can be found in this newsletter. Please take the time to read it! Take advantage of all the great initiatives TFRW and NFRW offer you. The next couple of months will fly by!
I am humbly honored to serve you. If you need anything, please feel free to reach out to me.
God Bless each and EVERY ONE OF YOU and God Bless Texas!
