President’s Pen – June 2025
I was honored to represent TFRW at the VEP Appreciation Conference May 3rd in Austin. The applause for TFRW gave me goosebumps hearing all the accolades for the awesome work we did during the election. We definitely made a difference and I thank all 600 VEP volunteers, and I especially thank Mary Heffernan. Your hard work turned the tides in those battle-ground states, and I can’t imagine what might have happened if we hadn’t put our whole hearts and souls into this effort. Over and over again, I heard that Texas leads the nation! Thank you TFRW! I am so proud of our organization.
May 3rd was yet another great day in Austin, with the Governor signing the School Choice Bill. The 89th Legislature will soon adjourn with only a few days left to Sine Die, June 2nd. It’s time for you to focus on conventions and celebrating all your great accomplishments.
You still have time to submit your applications for NFRW Awards. Midnight, June 1st, is the deadline date. I’ll be looking for your emails. Be proud of everything your club has done over the past two years. You deserve National recognition.

We will continue updating Events as more information is available for both Conventions. Be watching your Capitol Connection for Early Bird registration for the NFRW Convention. Please adhere to deadline dates. These are hard deadline dates set by our Bylaws.
I also invite you to our 3rd Quarter Board meeting on July 19th. This information is also available under Events. The last day to register for the Embassy Suites hotel is June 26th. We will be recognizing the women who participated in the 40 Under 40 Fellowship 2nd Cohort, and the Nominating Committee will present their recommendations for the 2026-2027 Slate of Officers at this Board meeting.
I am humbly honored to serve you as your President. I can’t believe how quickly this term is passing by. I thank all of you for a wonderful sisterhood that has already left footprints on my heart with many more to come. Our love for God, Family, and Country keep us united.
