President’s Pen – February 2026
What an incredible Leadership Day weekend! Thank you to everyone who attended and participated. The Attorney General forum was very informative, the Candidate Meet and Greet was fantastic, and hearing from the Honorable Brooke Rollins was such a treat. Thank you to our Leadership Day Committee for making it such a success! I hope you had a great time, learned a great deal, and took home valuable information for your clubs. If you could not attend, the slides and handouts are on the website HERE.
Club Presidents, the suggestion was made during the president breakout session that a monthly Zoom would be helpful. Starting February 9th, and every second Monday of the month, we will have a President’s Zoom to answer questions and facilitate any information you need to make your club run smoothly. This will be a short hour for myself and other officers to keep you updated on important information and answer your questions so you can run a successful and effective club. Please watch your email for the Zoom link.
I shared my vision and plans for the next two years with our Board at the Board Meeting. I want to increase our presence and relevance throughout the state of Texas and attract new members. Upgrading our technology is one way we will achieve this goal. The technology committee and I will spend the next several months working on our website and how best to upgrade. We have not done an extensive upgrade in several years and we will be working to make it user-friendly and an effective tool for our membership. I also have a plan to expand our social media presence to increase membership, and will be working to launch a new podcast this year as well. The podcast will bring you information on policy, election information, and TFRW news. More information is coming soon!
This month we also introduced the Bullet Point Memo — a quick reference to important information you need to know. Please continue to read the monthly newsletter for more detailed information and use the resources available on the TFRW and NFRW websites.
Membership this year is off to a great start and NFRW has a fantastic new program that was introduced at Leadership Day. The America 250 Membership Challenge will recognize clubs who preserve their foundation and maintain a strong engagement of their membership. More details are in the newsletter.
We believe in honest and fair elections, so I encourage you to volunteer to be an election worker this primary. We only have fair elections when we stand up and help in the process.
Finally, we are in the middle of primary season. There are a lot of open seats and races this year. Please be mindful of our candidate fairness policy. More information is in this newsletter. And remember, after Primary Day, we support our Republican candidates even if they were not who we supported during the Primary. A Republican is better than a Democrat any day!
