Fundraising and finance issues cross three TFRW Board
positions.

The Bottom Line
[email protected]
We all know that our club finances are the bottom line in determining what
we can do to
• Get our message out to voters,
• Help strengthen and streamline our government, and
• Contribute to our communities.
What we need to know about how the Texas Ethics Commission looks at us
is even more important. They determine
• How we can raise money,
Treasurer Cindy Payne

• Who we can take it from, and
• What we can spend it on.
Choosing not to follow these rules can put your club and your ability to help
educate voters in jeopardy and can extremely threaten your affiliation with
TFRW and NFRW with
• Fines,
• Administrative court, and
• The possibility of losing your status as a PAC.
PAC Chair Gwen Withrow
[email protected] What You Need to Know
Please read the TEC’s short four-page booklet Political Fundraising: What
You Need to Know - A Guide for Candidates, Officeholders, and Political
Committees. Since your club is a political committee, pay special attention
to the pertinent information specific to GPACs. Learning everything in the
booklet will put you in a position to help candidates and officeholders
build their treasuries, too. Becoming an asset to them puts your club in an
elevated position with our potential Republican officeholders.
We are happy to answer questions for your club and lead you
through issues that might arise.
