Please do not forget to file your Ethics Reports due before the March 6th Primary Election.

The 30th day before the election is due February 5th (already passed) and the 8th day before the election is due
February 26th. If you file a 30th day report you must file an 8-day report even if it is zero. For more detailed informa-
tion on periods covered, check the TEC (Texas Ethics Commission) website. Also, sign up to receive email reminders
of upcoming deadlines from TEC. The TEC website is www.ethics.state.tx.us. The ethics office is available for phone
calls Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Their number is: 512-463-5800.

Please do not wait until the last minute to start your report.
I wish Cindy Payne and I had more time to answer everyone’s questions at the leadership training, but we are avail-
able by email if you have additional questions.

Federal Candidate Campaign Materials

One particular question we had was concerning distribution of federal candidate campaign materials. Some were
wondering why it was in the halls at the TFRW leadership training. The answer is outside of your meeting room
candidates may distribute their materials and tables can be set up for display of their data but not in the meeting
room. Hopefully this helps clarify the issue.
