The leadership of area clubs heard about the basic qualifications needed to apply. It was emphasized
that requirements are kept at a minimum because citizen participation is greatly desired.
Also discussed was the topic of experience in a certain field that may interest an applicant. Information
was given that most boards have an ‘at-large’ citizen member whose main purpose is to represent the
interests of Texans. The boards have regulatory power over many facets of our citizens, so common
interest input is very important.
