January 11-12
TFRW First Quarter Board of Directors Focused on 2020
Meeting
How we respond to the 2018 Midterm Elections is
important. Do we respond by wearing silly hats and
Table of Contents protesting at the Capitol? Maybe ask for a recount in
all the judicial races we lost? No, we are Republican
Women, and that’s not how we roll; we look inward, figure out what we
Focused on 2020 1
did wrong, roll up our sleeves, and get to work. If I were to blame the Texas
What Really Matters 2 Federation of Republican Women for election results, I would say,
We Need You! 3
“We did not have strong membership numbers, we did not
Saturday, January 12 4 train enough women to run for office, and we need to be more
‘Tis the Season of Membership! 5 visible.”
Remember All That Fundraising
First, we need to increase membership. If we do not increase our numbers,
You Did All Year Long… 6
we will have less workers to deploy to campaigns. We need to take
It’s Island Time, Again! 7 membership far more seriously, and we need our elected officials to
plug TFRW every time they are at an event. Every woman who attends a
2018 Patron Clubs 7
Republican event should be a member of TFRW; it’s that simple.
2018 Patrons & Associate Patrons 8
Second, we need more women to run for office. Charisa Dvorak is our new
Candidate Development Chairperson, and she has a plan that she will explain
Christmas for a Soldier 9
at the next board meeting.
It’s that Time of the Year Again 9
Third, the Texas Federation of Republican Women needs to be more vocal
Carmen Dusek Appointed to and more visible this legislative season. We need to be out there more, and
the 51st District Court 10 this starts in our clubs. We need more self-promotion.
Moments in History 11 I am already focused on 2020 and making sure that our organization is at its
best, so we can give Republicans our best.
