Build Your Membership, Newsletters, and Social Media
Communication is not just important; it is critical to every aspect of an organization.
An informed membership is an interested, more responsible membership.
Use your Communications Plan to build more interest in your club, to encourage people to join your club, find
sponsors, get associate members while building awareness within your community about your club and its goals.
Promote your community service projects, etc.
1. Take time to think about your clubs’ communication goals and objectives.
a) Working with your Club President, select your committee members and determine the goals and approach
needed for developing your Communications Plan that will support the Club President and her vision along
with her strategic plan during her term for your club.
b) Create a budget. Remember that there are many free ways to accomplish your plan; be creative.
c) Remember to begin small and grow as your club needs are identified.
2. Identify your top priorities.
a) Promote your Club.
b) Target audience: Your members, community, local news, and other media outlets.
c) How will your club accomplish this? Your PR, Membership, Social Media, and Newsletter Committees
should work together to create a plan that will coordinate all your individual goals together as a compre-
hensive overall approach.
3. Create your plan of Action.
a) Develop a calendar with a timeline.
b) Assign someone to be responsible for each action item.
c) Track your progress with measureable action items.
d) What tools do you need?
