TFRW Partners with Patriot Paws

Republican News

patriot paws logoUPDATE:  At the TFRW Legislative Day, the generosity of our members and guests helped us raise enough to pair one dog with one Vet!  When our Lt. Governor, Dan Patrick, heard about our mission to raise funds for Patriot Paws, he volunteered to raise enough funding so that we could provide a SECOND dog to a deserving Veteran.

We will continue to accept donations – our new goal is to team one or two more dogs with deserving Vets by our TFRW Convention in October!

The Texas Federation of Republican Women is currently partnering with Patriot Paws, a non-profit organization whose mission is to train and provide service dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American combat veterans with mobile disabilities and PTSD in order to help restore their physical and emotional independence.

It costs a minimum of $30,000 to acquire a puppy, train him/her and then train the Veteran.  This training includes instructional materials, supplies, and support for training the disabled veterans. The program also includes home visits, public access testing and follow-up support for the life of the dog/Veteran team.

There are so many men and women who have sacrificed so much to ensure our freedom and our liberty.  Professionally trained dogs like these can make a real difference in the lives of our service men and women but the cost is generally out of the reach of disabled vets.

Working together, we can make the world a better place……one dog, one veteran at a time.

Won’t you join us?  Make a tax deductible donation to “Patriot Paws” and note “TFRW DOG” on the memo line.

Our goal is to provide at least one dog for a deserving disabled Veteran at our Convention in Dallas in October. Watch for fun ways that you can contribute…..and visit our “Smooch the Pooch” booth in Dallas!
