Membership is a Lifestyle, not an Event!
Membership Tips:
♦ Set a Membership goal (24% in 24 months), then put together a plan to achieve the goal.
♦ Get a group together and block-walk for your club. Have membership forms ready to sign-up new members. If there isn’t anyone at home, then leave a door-hanger that describes your club on one side and has a membership form on the other.
♦ Have guests sign in with name and address so you can mail a “We enjoyed meeting you” note and then mail them a newsletter with a membership form.
♦ Place ads in local community newsletters (realtors, garden clubs, homeowners, etc).
Retaining and Gaining Members:
♦ The Bulverde Area RW recently mailed “We Miss You” letters to members who hadn’t renewed and to previous members. To make it easy for them to renew, included with the letter was a self-addressed envelope and a completed renewal form for each recipient (so all they needed to do was make corrections). Within two weeks after mailing the “We Miss You” letter, over 20 members renewed. The renewals are still coming in and this tip works so well that it is worth repeating.
♦ In April, the Texas Tea Party RW ran a very successful Membership promotion. A local restaurant gave to each Full member and each Full member she recruited (minimum of three), a $50 gift card. They gained 19 new Full members, along with quite a few new Associate members and renewals.
Please send to me at TFRWMemberVP@aol.com, your idea for Retaining and Gaining Members so we can share it with the other TFRW Local Clubs and let’s all decide that…
