Dear Fellow Republican Women,
I can tell by your emails, and the reports that are coming in the mail, that Campaign Activities are heating up. This is good, and we thank you for all your work. Some of you are thinking that the deadline for sending hours for the first quarter of 2008 is March 31, but it's not, that's just the end of the reporting period. You may send it to me in the next few weeks, and also include hours that were not reported from 2007. You have some wiggle room there. Remember to remind your members often to report to you, most people tend to underestimate their own work. Don't forget to include participation in precinct conventions, SD or County Conventions, and work on special projects, etc.
I know we've talked about hunkering down and staying in the trenches for the long haul, but now it's time to climb out and join the surge. Just as our troops are serious about doing their job over there, we must be serious about ours here at home. We owe it to the men and women in uniform to elect a president who will stand up for them. While the dems are waging a noisy, nasty and public fistfight, we can quietly do our business of talking to friends and neighbors, helping candidates get out their messages, and ensuring a big Republican win in November. How good is that going to feel??
And don't forget the General Election Competition that our Lt. Governor Dewhurst is sponsoring! We have created 2 special forms for that competition, which ends Nov. 5, and you will simply use the hours between April 9 and Nov. 5 as the block of countable hours for it. The regular form for reporting hours is in your Leadership Handbook, and on the TFRW website.
Thank you, thank you for all your work on behalf of your clubs and Republican candidates, and please call anytime if you have questions or need help.
Best Regards,
Carol Hanle
