Dear Members:
It’s hard to believe 2 months into my term so much has been done: a board meeting, conference calls, TFRW first President’s e-Newsletter, e-mail blasts and much more. I thank each of you for the help that made this happen.
The big surprise at our board meeting was Borah Van Dormolen, Daphne Hamilton, Andra Crossland and Katherine Stern Gilbert presented TFRW with a $40,000 check from their fundraising efforts and fiscal responsibility at the TFRW Convention in El Paso. There is no question, El Paso and all the members loved making our convention wonderful. We are greatly appreciative for everything and especially the $40,000 check. What a way to start off a new term.
I have bad news and good news. The bad news Ginia Wray Wright has resigned as District Director for Senate District 17. The good news Ginia Wray will stay on the board as Convention Chairman and Linda Hancock will take Ginia Wray’s position as District Director.
The next round of conference calls will start March 7. Click here for the chart to check your scheduled time. Remember you can join in any call if you are unable to attend your scheduled one. The phone number and access code are the same for each call. Don’t forget to invite your Membership Vice President or Chairman for the March call. Jo Konen, VP Bylaws will present in April also with Kathy Webster and Casey Martin our TFRW Victory 2008 Chairmen. The May call will have Barbara Perales speaking on Caring for America and Brenda McCullough is speaking on Literacy. Our June call has Barbara Larson on the Voter Security. These calls are a time to learn from others.
The President’s E-Newsletter was well received. It was encouraging when the comments came back positive. This newsletter is also on the web page giving you the opportunity to pass it on to others. If you didn’t receive the E-Newsletter please check your junk/spam mail box or send your e-mail address to headquarters.
March will bring decisions in many areas for the Republican Party. First, we will know who most of our republican nominees will be. Second, the convention process will begin which will elect our delegates to represent us at the County/Senatorial and State Conventions. You as leaders need to encourage your members and their family and friends to vote early or on March 4 and participate in the conventions.
Again, I want to repeat if your candidate does not receive the nomination then you have 3 days “To Get Over It”. We MUST stand behind our nominees. Any Republican will represent us better than any democrat.
