This is TFRW’s first E-Newsletter.  The focus of this e-newsletter will be mostly from the TFRW board meeting held February 1, 2008 in San Antonio.  The reports picked to be published are for you to share.  This form of communication will allow you to forward the whole e-newsletter or parts of it to your club officers and members.  You don’t have to print the whole document just the parts that you need to see on paper.  This information will be on the www.TFRW.org web page.  This is a work in progress. Robyn Tepper, TFRW Executive Director, is using a new program to create this newsletter.  She and I ask for your patience as the e-newsletter develops.

The conference calls  continue to be a huge success.  Last month Rebecca Bradford, Awards Chairman, and Mary Mayo, TFRW VP Finance,  presented information on awards and the Tribute to Women’s event.  As of this writing, the February Conference calls are going along great.  Borah Van Dormolen, Immediate Past President and Candidate for National Committee Woman, is covering the importance of the convention process and Carol Hanle, TFRW VP Campaign Activities, is presenting a wide variety of information on campaigns.   If you missed your scheduled time this week, February 4 to 6, you can join us February 7 or 8 at 8:30am with the same phone number and access code.  Please see the next pages for details on the calls.  Don’t forget to invite your Campaign Activities chairman for Friday, February 8, or your Membership chairman for March’s calls.

Thank you to Mollie Herrington, Deputy President Region I, for a job well done on orchestrating the Leadership Day in San Antonio. The comments have been incredible.  Members are saying the workshops were outstanding and the keynote speakers were great. The focus of English as the Official Language hit a home run.  Watch for a sample resolution and wording to start a petition to give to your local officials.  Tim O’Hare, Farmers Branch Mayor Pro Tem and candidate for Mayor, gave his personal experience on passing a Resolution to make English the Official Language.  The other exciting news shared with us by Tim Schultz, Director of Governmental Relations US English was that Tim O’Hare was being honored by US English as one of the best supporters and backers of  helping make English the Official Language.  I was pleased to share this day with over 265 TFRW members from across the state and know they walked away having learned and having been motivated by many.

Thank you all for making January 31 to February 2 a grand way to start off the 2008/2009 term.  We are a team and with the excitement in the air we will get Republicans elected!

Don’t forget – you have 3 days to “GET OVER IT”.
